Please Stand By Fragmented storyline Cannot be Save Strong Characterization

It is difficult to know how to start this review of Please Stand By. Top pick character development. Dakota Fanning's portrayal of an autistic woman submitting her Star Trek screenplay to a contest is excellent. Still, only so much can be done when the storyline is fragmented and, in some cases, irrelevant. Toni Collette does a good job too, but River Alexander adds nothing to the movie as Collette's son. He is just there too much for no reason. Alive Eve as Fanning's sister is good, but the plot seems to drag out as one thing happens after another. What starts out as a good movie ends in mediocrity. Fanning doing a good job cannot save this movie. The final grade is a B-
