Review: Marilyn Reische-An Example of Autism Unfriendliness

    Marilyn Reische is the epitome of autism-unfriendliness. Mrs. Reische was belliger-ent with me. Mrs. Reische held a support group for parents of adult children with autism. You do not ever get belligerent with someone with autism because you may not be aware of the person's autism symptoms. The person may or may not be very frail. The person with autism may become agitated

    Mrs. Reische is a former rehabilitation counselor. She should have known better. Mrs. Reische gossiped about me to her group members. She would never be allowed to get away with this in a true clinical facility

    I had four meltdowns as a result of her belligerence. I became severely agitated. The other retired counselor who imvolved herself, Dr. Barbara Nichols, did nothing. Dr. Nichols should have stopped Mrs. Reische's belligerence. 

What happened was that a moldy smell started appearing in the room where the adult autism support group was meeting. I was the facilitator of that group. After several complaints about the mold it was decided by the group that we should leave. Mrs. Reische decided we should stay, and threatened to remove me out of the group I was facilitating. I am now a mental health counselor, and I know full well Mrs. Reische's behavior was extremely unethical. You simply do not talk about other facilitators to recipients of human services (i.e. clients)

    Marilyn Reische's group gets a thumbs down. Belligerent Marilyn Reische's group gets a thumbs way down 👎. Stay completely away from this group. Mrs. Reische is not autism-friendly. I solicited a comment from Mrs Reische, but received no response.
